The Temperament Sorter

"I" (Introvert) or an "E" (Extrovert)

To determine your "type", you reflect on which statements are accurate descriptives of how you react in most situations (i.e. work, home, and play). Some choices may be difficult as we are all able to pick a few from each letter. However, it is possible for most people to choose the one which appears to be the most accurate description. I suggest you read both choices, mark the obvious ones, and then make a decision.

Think before Speaking You talk easily and often surprise yourself by how well an idea comes out of your mouth, (or, alternatively, you "put your foot in it").
Plan what you will say, often asking to think about something something and "get back to you later" Enjoy the company of friends and think that having people around adds to the fun of the occasion.
Find it important to have time to yourself or with one or a few loved ones, often having to defend your need to be alone. You are easily approached by strangers and often chat comfortably with strangers in a store or an airplane or waiting in line.
Often resent interruption while speaking. You allow others to finish a thought and wish they would do the same for you. You occasionally interrupt someone who is speaking because the ideas are flowing freely and interruptions add to the excitement of sharing.
An evening of conversation leaves you tired and emotionally drained. A lively evening of conversation leaves you excited and stimulated.
You keep only one or two close friends and spend time with one or a few loved ones. You keep in contact with old friends, make new ones and keep close contact with relatives.
You wonder why other people seem to need to talk so much (and they say so little). You talk while thinking, looking for keys or glasses, while making a list or reading the paper.
You think best in a quiet setting with just a typewriter, computer or a few books. You think best in a group setting where ideas flow and you can be stimulated by others and stimulate them.
