How to work positively

Remember other types may not need or want logic but do want to be heard.
-
Use logical abilities to help define issues and objectives before negotiating
ways to accomplish them.
-
Refrain from adding to the objectives before entering the cooperative phase
of negotiations.
-
You will do yourself a favor by stating objectives. Try to cut down on
the long list of options you want to bring to the table. Instead,
prioritize and cut off.
-
Expect spouse to judge you somewhat harshly for negotiating without a plan
for a period of time.
-
Learn to say no in negotiations more frequently instead of making promises
you can't keep.
-
Set deadlines for negotiating process. Learn to keep to some timetables
which spouse will probably appreciate.
-
Try to disengage process of negotiations and focus more on goals like a
total parenting plan or a property settlement.
-
When suggesting solutions make sure they're workable instead of merely
possible.
-
Use a step-by-step written outline to keep you focused, don't just have
rough sketches and vague ideas.
Remember though, that each of us is unique so any "template"
